Bank Accounts

If you don’t have a bank account, there are increasing reasons why you may want to open one such as:

• Many benefits including Universal Credit have to be paid into a bank account
• Most employers pay wages into a bank account
• If you pay bills by direct debit you often get discounts
• Payments are faster than Post Office accounts

If you think you won’t get an account because you have a poor credit history, many banks now offer very basic accounts.

If you are struggling to supply the ID needed to open an account, if you are claiming Council Tax Reduction or Housing Benefit, we can supply a letter to verify your ID.

We can also help you get copies of your Council Tax bill if needed.
